Drshtee’s journey began with a simple yet powerful moment. When founder Aaryan Daterao, then 9, visited a school for Hearing and Speech Impaired (CBMV) kids in Pune, he witnessed how something as small as a pair of spectacles or a basic hearing device could completely transform a child’s life. That experience planted the seed for Drshtee: the belief that accessibility should never be a privilege, but a right. What started as a spark grew into a mission—designing very basic robo-glove using cardboard, injection syringes, rubber bands; creating audio files to create a visual story for the kids who cannot see the world, and building hepatic response walking sticks to detect obstacles, etc. This taught him a profound lesson: failure is the first step of success, and perseverance is the next. Today, Drshtee works to remove barriers for the visually impaired, hearing and speech impaired, and physically challenged — one innovation at a time.
Use technology, volunteers, and partnerships to create accessible solutions — and to amplify the work of NGOs and researchers worldwide — to make a positive impact.
